Let the nesting begin!

December is here and so is one of my favourite reasons I live in Canada:  Winter.  Don't get me wrong, I HATE being cold.  I hate that feeling of my finger and toes being so numb that they hurt and don't work the way I want them to.  I hate the wind blowing so cold and hard in my face that I can hardly breathe and have to hold my breathe during a particularly strong gust. I hate that after a spring, summer and fall of being a running superstar, the cold air makes my lungs instantly seize up and asthma wins and I am destined to spend the next 3 months with the treadmill and PVR as my running buddies.  And most of all, I hate that chill I get right down to the deepest part of my bones that makes me feel like I'll never be warm again.

What I do love is feeling cozy and warm and safe.  I love when I go outside on that cold but blindingly sunny day all bundled up with only the tip of my nose feeling the cold.  I love the feeling of running- briefly- from the car to the house where the warm air, sweet with the smells of cooking whooshes over and envelops me.  I love being in bed with my babies watching a movie and eating popcorn together as a warm ball of love and blankets.
